Before an Initial Run
- Meet in a public, familiar, well-populated location. - Consider meeting during daylight for an initial run. - Tell a trusted person where you are going and when you expect to return. - Arrange independent transportation so you can leave on your own. - Avoid sharing a home address before trust is established. - Treat general areas and approximate distance bands as discovery preferences, not verified locations. - Keep your phone sufficiently charged.
Protect Sensitive Information
- Never share financial information, passwords, verification codes, or sensitive documents with another runner. - Use caution before sharing personal information such as your home address, workplace, regular schedule, or other information that could reveal where you can routinely be found.
During and After a Run
- Trust your instincts. Leave whenever you feel uncomfortable. - Respect pace, ability, physical boundaries, and decisions to end a run or conversation. - End contact, block, or report when necessary. - Call local emergency services when there is immediate danger.
Reporting a Safety Concern
If another runner violates Run Bud’s Community Guidelines or makes you feel unsafe, use the Report feature on their profile when possible. You may also block a runner to end contact. For additional support, contact:
